How to create an invoice in Wave
Wave invoicing runs in the browser (or the mobile app). The process is straightforward:

- 3Select an existing customer or add new contact details.
- 4Add line items: description, quantity, price, and tax rate.

Wave does not show a live PDF preview as you edit. To check the final layout before sending, you need to download the PDF or preview it in a separate step.
How to create an estimate in Wave
Estimates (quotes) in Wave follow the same flow as invoices:
- 1Open "Estimates" from the Invoicing menu and click "New estimate."
- 2Fill in the client details and add your line items.
- 3Set an expiry date and any notes or terms.
- 4Send the estimate by email to your client.
- 5Once the client approves, convert it to an invoice with one click from the estimate view.
Wave estimates are a flat list of line items, with no way to group them into sections with individual subtotals. There is also no online approval or e-signature — the client can confirm acceptance by replying to your email, but there is no built-in signed workflow.
